Traders in the Ashanti Region have rejected Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change, ahead of the 2024 polls, throwing their weight behind Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
This development comes after Kyerematen led members of the Movement for Change on a street walk.
The traders who were expected to join the walk and show massive support for Alan Kyerematen failed to show up, leaving the walk with few participants
Speaking exclusively to OTEC News during the walk, traders at Kumasi Kejetia Market and Adum declared their allegiance to the NPP.
They vowed to canvas for the party in the upcoming polls, citing life-changing policies like the free Senior High School (SHS) program.
The traders’ endorsement is a significant boost for Bawumia’s presidential bid, highlighting the impact of the NPP’s policies on ordinary Ghanaians.
