Ex -Black Stars goalie Sammy Agyei ready to play for Hearts again

Former Black Stars goalkeeper Sammy Adjei has stated that he has regained his goalkeeping form that can make him compete for any local football club in the country, preferably, his former club, Accra Hearts of oak.

He said he has trained enough that will help the big clubs, if his services are needed, to conquer African once again.

Speaking to the media in Accra, the former Club Africain goalie said “I’m training hard to help the big clubs in Ghana to conquer Africa, so if Hearts of Oak needs me back, I am 100 percent available for them”.

He believed his experience at both local and foreign front will inspire the younger goalies and help them to learn from him (Sammy Adjei)

“The goalkeepers there are in their good shape but what they need is finishing and also my advice can make the team more successful in Ghana and Africa. The more I grow, the more I obtain more experience, so the current goalkeepers here will gain more experience from me,” he added

Sammy Adjei was the first choice goalkeeper for the National Black Stars side in 2001 until 2006, when Richard Kingson rose to prominence and took his place.

He was named in Ghana squad for the 2006 Africa cup in Egypt and 2006 world cup squad on 13 May 2006.

He said though he is 37 years, there is more active football in him than those goalies in their 20s.

“I’m now 37 and I can keep the goal post for a while, so I don’t understand why people always say am old whiles Gianluigi Buffon, 39, still keeps the goal post for the old ladies, Juventus in Italy,” he said.

The former F. C Ashdod of Isarel goalie says he is 100 percent ready to return to Hearts of Oak if his services are needed.
