The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South Constituency, Dr. Kingsley Agyeman, has accused the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) of not prioritizing the health needs of ordinary Ghanaians.
According to Dr. Agyeman, the NDC made 33 health promises in their 2024 manifesto, but only 6 of these promises were captured in the 2025 budget.
Dr. Agyeman argued that the remaining 27 promises, representing 81.82% of the total, were not included in the budget.
He cautioned the government against politicizing the health sector, emphasizing that the allocations made to healthcare indicate that the NDC does not prioritize the health of Ghanaians.
Furthermore, Dr. Agyeman noted that despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NDC failed to make any allocations to cater for similar emergencies in the future.
He appealed to the government to amend the budget and make more allocations to address the health needs of citizens.
As the MP for Abuakwa South Constituency, Dr. Agyeman’s concerns highlight the need for the government to prioritize healthcare and fulfill its promises to the Ghanaian people
