Former Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi, believes that Bryan Acheampong is the unifying figure the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) needs as its flagbearer.
Following the humiliating loss in the 2024 polls, the NPP is preparing to elect new party executives and leaders, with the flagbearer post in sight.
While the party is yet to come out with an official calendar for the internal elections, the camp of Bryan Acheampong has hinted at the former Agric Minister’s intention to lead the NPP as flagbearer.
Speaking to Dr. Cash on the Kumasi-based OTEC 102.9 FM’s afternoon political show “Dwabrem” on Monday, Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi said the NPP is at the crossroads now and will need a person of value to lead them.
“Hon. Acheampong comes in with in-depth knowledge of the party and Ghana’s governance system” .
“He has enough experience in the country’s political architecture, and leading the NPP will be the best for the party,” he added.
The former MP noted that while the party may have other deserving candidates, Bryan Acheampong currently stands tall in this particular race.
He called on the members of the party to support the candidature of Bryan Acheampong to win back power come 2028 polls.
