Three armed robbers jailed 10 years each by Atasemanso Circuit Court

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has successfully secured the conviction and sentencing of three armed robbery suspects involved in a robbery incident at Boubai in the Asokore Mampong Municipality.
The suspects, Mamudu Issah (18), Samuel Takyi (18), and Alhassan Abubakari (18), were convicted on July 8, 2025, after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and seven counts of robbery.
According to the police, the suspects, along with three other accomplices, attacked and robbed residents of mobile phones, bags, and cash on July 1, 2025.
However, thanks to the timely intervention of community volunteers, the suspects were apprehended at their hideout in Aboabo later that same day.
A press release on Wednesday July, 9, 2025 signed by the the Head of Public Relations Unit for the Ghana Police Service in the region, DSP Godwin Ahianyo revealed that volunteers in the area handed over the suspects to the police along with ten recovered mobile phones and three bags believed to be stolen.
The Atasemanso Circuit Court in Kumasi handed down the following sentences: Mamudu Issah was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment on each of the robbery-related charges and three years for causing harm, to run concurrently.
Samuel Takyi and Alhassan Abubakari were each sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment on the robbery-related charges, to run concurrently.
The Regional Police Command has expressed its appreciation to the public, particularly the community volunteers, for their swift response and cooperation in this operation.
The police continue to encourage the public to support policing efforts and promptly report suspicious activities.
