
The Minister in charge of Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has stated that President’s actions regarding the removal of the Chief Justice (CJ) have not violated any laws.
He made these claims in an interview after the removal of the former Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo in a letter issued by the Presidency
While he said he can’t make known the details of the committee’s findings, he revealed that the decision was taken based on the recommendations of the committee’s report
He further noted that while he can’t declare the details of the report, he indicated that the former Chief Justice has received the President’s letter, which contains details of the committee’s report and why she has been removal
Felix Kwakye Ofosu further emphasized that the President is fully aware of the magnitude of the CJ’s removal
He highlighted President Mahama’s experience in dealing with institutional arrangements, adding that the President per the constitution is binded to act based on the recommendations of the committee
