Three dead, 13 new infections as Mpox cases hit 670 in Ghana

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has reported an increase in Mpox cases, with 13 new infections confirmed as of October 1, 2025. This brings the country’s total number of cases to 670, reflecting a steady rise in reported infections over recent weeks.

Unfortunately, the GHS also confirmed that three deaths have been recorded, and one patient is currently receiving hospital treatment.

Health experts warn that Mpox is primarily transmitted through close contact with infected individuals.

The GHS has urged the public to maintain good personal hygiene and to immediately report to the nearest health facility if they experience any of the symptoms associated with the disease, including fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, or tiredness.
