In a bid to foster community spirit and support youth development, Madam Patricia Ahenkorah, the Assembly Member for the Chirapatre Electoral Area, conducted a multi-community tour on Sunday to donate sports equipment and entertainment systems to her constituents.

Sports and Recreation:

During her visit to the Chirapatre School Park and the Ramseyer Technical Institute, Madam Ahenkorah presented footballs and training kits to local teams during their traditional “Sunday Special” matches.

The donation drive extended beyond the pitch; the Assembly Member also provided television sets, DSTV decoders, and full installation accessories to youth groups in both Chirapatre and Nyinahiniso.

“These donations are intended to keep the spirit of socialization alive,” Madam Ahenkorah stated during her address.

He noted that, “With the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup approaching, these television sets will allow residents both young and old to enjoy the games at no cost”

Additionally, she stated that the football kits would ensure that the local athletes maintain their training and keep the ‘Sunday Special’ tradition thriving.

Infrastructure and Growth:

Madam Ahenkorah was joined on her tour by Mr. Oscar Riches, the Assembly Member for Asokwa Old Town.

She emphasized that youth empowerment remains a central pillar of her mandate.

Highlighting her recent achievements, she noted the successful installation of 700 streetlights across the Chirapatre communities, significantly improving local security and visibility.

“I am committed to using my office to lobby for vital developmental projects,” she added.

She added that, “I am currently in active discussions with our Member of Parliament and the Asokwa Municipal Assembly to address our road network and other pressing social challenges.”

Gratitude:

Receiving the items on behalf of the community, the Chirapatre Youth Leader (Mmerantehene), Kwame Kufuor, expressed profound gratitude for the gesture.

He noted that the entertainment systems would provide a central hub for residents to watch local and foreign league matches together.

“We thank you for these gifts and for your consistent presence in our communities,” Mr. Kufuor said.

He noted, “We urge the Assembly Member to continue these regular engagements so that our local concerns can be effectively forwarded to the Asokwa Municipal Assembly for redress.”
