Ashanti Regional NPP Council of Elders Commend Minority Caucus for Stellar Performance in Parliament

As the nation celebrates this season of peace and goodwill, the Ashanti Regional Council of Elders of the Opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) extends heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Minority Caucus in Parliament and their families.

 The elders in a statement signed by its  Secretary Victor Owusu

, on Monday December 22, 2025, the council commended the minority lawmakers for their remarkable performance in Parliament despite being outnumbered.

“The Ashanti Regional Council of Elders extends heartfelt Christmas greetings to you and your families,” the statement read.

 “This year, in the face of a disadvantaged numerical strength of 87 in favour of the minority and the relentless tactics of bullying, frustration and intimidation by the majority of 189, you have demonstrated unmatched commitment, resilience and sterling qualities in debates that speaks to the very soul of our tradition.”

The council noted that the minority caucus has stood as guardians of liberty and constitutional order, reminding the nation that democracy thrives only when its foundations are defended with courage and clarity.

“In the spirit of Danquah, you have stood as guardians of liberty and constitutional order,” the statement added.

The elders also praised the minority lawmakers for their commitment to humanity and service, placing the dignity and welfare of the people at the heart of every deliberation.

“While remaining grounded in the humanity championed by Busia, you have shown that leadership is not merely about power, but about service,” the statement read.

The council further commended the minority caucus for working to build bridges, foster unity, and uphold the principle that strength lies in cooperation, even amidst adversity. “And true to the inclusive and service vision of Dombo, you have worked to build bridges, foster unity, and uphold the principle that strength lies in cooperation, even amidst adversity,” the statement added.
