We are ready for NPP presidential primary on January 31- EC
The Electoral Commission (EC) has stated that it is fully prepared for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Primary scheduled for Saturday, January 31.
The Commission has assured stakeholders that all logistical and administrative arrangements are on course to ensure a smooth and credible election.
Speaking to Citi News, the Deputy Director of Research at the EC, Fred Tetteh, said the distribution of election materials to the various voting centres would begin on Tuesday, January 27.
According to him, key preparatory processes, including the printing of ballot papers, have been successfully completed under strict supervision.
“Preparations are far ahead, in terms of printing the ballot papers, in the presence of the aspirants’ representatives. That has been completed,” Mr Tetteh said.
He noted that the EC had taken full custody of the ballot papers after printing, adding that the voter album for delegates had also been received.
“The EC, as of now, has taken full custody of the ballot papers from the printing house. We have also received the voter album of the delegates, and hopefully, by Tuesday at the latest, all the materials will be dispatched to the 16 regional capitals for onward transmission to the constituency centres,” he added.
