Ashanti Region: Four suspects arrested in connection with landmark armed robbery cases

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with a landmark armed robbery case in the region.
According to police, the suspects are part of a robbery gang terrorizing residents at Kunsu and its environs in the Ashanti Region.
The suspects, Yahyah Seidu (Diamond , 24), Atta Esrael (Stone, 32), Victor Gyan (City Boy, 26), and Stanley Wiafe Akenten (Figo, 30), are currently in custody assisting investigations.
Addressing the media in a press conference on Wednesday, January 27, 2026, the Ashanti Regional Police Command’s DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur said police retrieved two pump-action guns, five mobile phones including the complainant’s phone, 22 BB cartridges, and a cash of 5400 cedis.
He disclosed the suspects, including two others who are currently on the run attacked one Kingsley Asare at their mining site, robbing them of their gold, money, and mobile phones.
“They carried out this operation on December 7, 2025, robbing gold worth hundreds of cedis,” he said.
“We interrogated them upon arrest, and they have admitted the offense. They will be brought to book,” DCOP Arthur noted. The suspects will be arraigned before court to face the law.
