
Security measures have been intensified at polling centers in the Ashanti Region, with 50 to 100 police officers deployed to each center.
Correspondents report that the inner perimeter of voting centers has around 20 officers protecting voters and ballot boxes, while others are stationed at entrances and vantage points.
Voting, which commenced at 7:00 a.m., has seen a strong turnout, with over 100 delegates showing up to cast their ballots.
