Appointments Committee reschedules vetting of ministerial nominees

The Appointment Committee of Parliament has rescheduled the vetting of President John Dramani Mahama’s ministerial nominees to Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Adom News’ parliamentary correspondent, Ohene Amponsah, confirmed the development, although the reason is not immediately known.

The change in schedule means the committee will now sit on Thursday to scrutinise the nominees and assess their qualifications, experience, and suitability for their respective portfolios.

The nominees include Majority Leader and Chairman of Parliament’s Business Committee, Mahama Ayariga, who has been nominated as Minister-designate for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs.

Also expected to appear before the committee is Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the nominee for Minister-designate for Environment, Science and Technology.

The Appointments Committee is expected to submit its reports to Parliament after the exercise, paving the way for consideration and approval by the House.
