NPP clears all 47 aspirants for 2026 National Officers Elections

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cleared all 47 aspirants who were vetted to contest the party’s 2026 National Officers Elections, paving the way for them to proceed to the next stage of the internal electoral process.

A total of 47 aspirants appeared before the National Officers Election Vetting Committee (NOEVC) across nine categories of national officer positions.

The committee reviewed the documents submitted by the aspirants, assessed their eligibility, and considered the applicable requirements before submitting its recommendations to the NOEC.

“Accordingly, all 47 aspirants have been cleared to contest, subject to the processes provided under the applicable rules governing the elections,” the committee said.

With the vetting stage completed, attention now shifts to balloting for positions on the ballot paper.

The balloting exercise is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra.

The NOEC said specific times for balloting for the various positions would be communicated directly to the aspirants.

The committee has urged all aspirants and their representatives to cooperate fully to ensure an orderly and transparent balloting process.

The NOEC expressed appreciation to the Chairperson and members of the National Officers Election Vetting Committee for what it described as their diligence, professionalism and commitment throughout the exercise.

It also commended all 47 aspirants for their cooperation and conduct during the vetting process.

The committee further thanked party members, officials, supporters, the media and the general public for their continued interest in the electoral process.

It also appealed to aspirants, their supporters and party members to conduct themselves in ways that promote the unity and integrity of the party.

The committee said further information on subsequent stages of the electoral process would be communicated in due course.
