Justin Frimpong Kodua descends on Ashanti, tours home turf with message of hope

The incumbent General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua, will embark on a comprehensive tour of all 47 constituencies in the Ashanti Region starting Monday.

The tour aims to engage party delegates directly and present his vision for a second term as the party’s Chief Scribe.

As a native of the Ashanti Region, political observers view the upcoming campaign trail as a homecoming for the General Secretary.

He is scheduled to kick off the tour in the peripheral constituencies, including Offinso North, Offinso South, Ejura-Sekyedumase, Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo, and Mampong, before moving into the central areas.

Speaking in an interview, an aide to the General Secretary confirmed that Lawyer Kodua plans to complete the regional tour within two weeks.

The aide emphasized that the national campaign strategy is structured to ensure that the General Secretary completes his nationwide tour across all 16 regions by September 20.

The remaining days leading up to the October 3 national elections will be reserved for mop-up activities.

Growing Euphoria

Campaign branding for Lawyer Kodua, including posters, portraits, and flyers has visibly saturated key areas across the region, from the campus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the scheduled venue for the national delegates conference.

Local political analysts note that the incumbent General Secretary remains the most visible candidate in the national executive race.

Poll watchers attribute his strong appeal among delegates primarily to his accessible leadership style, excellent interpersonal relations, and proven track record.

Demonstrating strong grassroots support, delegates from the Asokwa Constituency have arranged to join the General Secretary’s caravan from Offinso and accompany him throughout his tour until he arrives in the Greater Kumasi area.

“Lawyer Kodua is one of our own, and it is only fitting that we stand by him and support his campaign across the entire Ashanti Region,” stated Felix Appiah, the NPP Constituency Secretary for Asokwa.

Electoral Projections:

A spot check across several constituencies in the region indicates that the incumbent holds a commanding lead and is poised to secure a decisive majority of the delegates’ votes.

This projection is particularly significant given that two other candidates in the General Secretary race, Eugene Boakye Antwi and Dr. Charles Dwamena, also hail from the Ashanti Region.

A prominent pollster noted that Lawyer Kodua is expected to perform exceptionally well, even in Subin and Kwadaso, the home constituencies of his main contenders, Eugene Boakye Antwi and Dr. Charles Dwamena, respectively.

The pollster projected that JFK is on track to secure between 60% and 75% of the total votes cast nationwide on election day.
