The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to hold balloting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9, 2026, to determine the positions of aspirants on the ballot paper for its upcoming National Officers Elections.
The exercise will take place at the NPP headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra, following the successful completion of the vetting process for all 47 aspirants.
The National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) announced that the 47 aspirants who appeared before the National Officers Election Vetting Committee (NOEVC) between August 31 and September 3 had all been cleared to contest.
The clearance has paved the way for the party to proceed with the next phase of its internal electoral process.
The NOEC said aspirants are expected to participate in the balloting either personally or through duly authorised representatives.
Specific times for the various positions are expected to be communicated directly to the aspirants.
The committee has urged all candidates and their representatives to cooperate fully to ensure that the exercise is conducted in an orderly and transparent manner.
The balloting will determine the sequence in which the candidates will appear on the ballot paper when delegates eventually vote to elect the party’s national officers.
The completion of the vetting and the scheduled balloting mark significant milestones in the NPP’s preparations for the 2026 National Officers Elections.
The NOEC has reiterated its commitment to conducting the remaining stages of the process fairly and transparently while maintaining the credibility and integrity of the party’s internal elections.
It has also called on aspirants, their supporters and party members to conduct themselves responsibly and in a manner that promotes unity within the party.
The committee is expected to provide further updates on subsequent stages of the electoral process as preparations continue towards the national officers’ elections.
