
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region has inaugurated its major standing committees to steer the affairs of the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The former Deputy Speaker of Parliament and former Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Hon. Joseph Osei-Wusu, will chair the Disciplinary Committee, with Dr. Nsiah Asare serving as Secretary. Other notable members of the committee include Deputy Minority Leader, Hon. Patricia Appiagyei and Dr. Ayisi Boateng.
Former Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Frederick Freduah Anto (F.F. Anto) will chair the Elections Committee, with Robert Yaw Amankwah as Vice Chairman.
For the Finance Committee, Mr. Oppong Bio has been appointed Chairman with Ben Owusu Achiaw as Vice Chairman.
Former Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital will chair the Professional Bodies Committee, with Thomas Kusi Boafo as Vice Chairman.
The Research Committee features some notable brains including Prof. Solomon Forkuo, Dr. Samuel Afriyie, Prof. Sampson Anoma, with Emmanuel Adu Boahen serving as Chairman and Isshak K. Brobey as Vice Chairman.
Addressing the team, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, called on them to work in unity to ensure the desired outcome and ensure the party wins power in the 2028 polls.
For his part, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Hon. Joseph Osei-Wusu, pledged their full allegiance to the party, noting that they will work in the best interest of the party and serve its purpose.
