Abanga Fuseini elected NPP National Youth Organiser

Abanga Fuseini Yakubu has been elected the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He emerged victorious in a keenly contested election held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026, as the party elected new national executives to oversee its affairs.

Abanga Fuseini polled 1550 votes to defeat five other aspirants who contested the position. They were Alfred Kumi Ababio 25; Vera Oye Bram-Larbi 44; Michael Osei Boateng 78; Clement Opoku Gyamfi 631; and Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah, the then Deputy National Youth Organiser, polled 46.

The election was one of nine national executive elections conducted as part of the NPP’s National Delegates Conference, which brought together more than 7,000 delegates from across the country.

The Electoral Commission supervised the elections, with voting taking place across 31 polling stations at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

During his campaign, Abanga Fuseini pledged to prioritise youth mobilisation as he takes charge of the NPP’s youth wing.

A key target of his campaign was to mobilise four million youth votes for the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in the 2028 general elections.

His election means he will take over the leadership of the NPP’s youth structure from Salam Mustapha and assume responsibility for coordinating and mobilising young members and supporters across the country.

He will also work with the party’s national executives and other structures to strengthen its youth wing ahead of the 2028 elections.
