One dead, police officer injured in shooting incident at Manso-Nsiana – Police restore calm
One person has died and one police officer has sustained injuries following a shooting incident at Manso-Nsiana in the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred today, Thursday, October 16, 2026, when a mob from the town attacked a police team and demanded the release of a suspect who had been arrested for a narcotics-related offence, leading to the shooting.
The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has since restored calm in the community.
According to a press release issued by the Police and posted on their official Facebook page on Friday, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy, while the injured officer is receiving medical attention.
The statement added that the Regional Commander and a team of officers visited the scene and engaged community leaders.
Security has since been intensified in the community while investigations continue.
