Agogo assault: Akili Bobo released on bail

The Agogo Magistrate Court has granted bail to Akili Bobo a member of the NPP who was accused of assaulting Yaa Akyiaa, a trader.
The court had earlier remanded the accused into police custody but was allegedly released by the Agogo Police.Akili Bobo was, however, re – arrested today to stand trial and has been granted bail in the sum of 5,000 ghc.
The victim Yaa Akyiaa who was accused of causing pandemonium in the streets of Agogo has been granted bail in similar amount. It could be recalled that Akili Bobo’s alleged assault led to bruises and swollen on the left eye of Yaa Akyiaa at the NPP’s delegates Congress.
His Worship George Ofori was not happy about media reportage that his court has been vandalized by persons purported to be aligned to Akili Bobo who opposed his remand.
According to him, his court’s windows were shuttered on Wednesday evening whereas the accused was brought in on Thursday.He said the matter has been reported to the police and therefore has no linkage to the remand of Akili Bobo.
His Worship George Ofori cautioned Journalists to uphold high ethical conducts which are devoid of sensationalism.
The accused,Akili Bobo and Yaa Akyiaa,the victim, are to re – appear on the 28/8/18.
