Baba Alhassan, Suspect with the police

Baba Alhassan is the leader of the NPP youth coalition that stormed the Tamale Teaching Hospital and sacked the CEO, Dr. David Kolbila.

It can be reported that, the N/R police combat team has just picked up Baba Alhassan at his residence a couple of minutes ago.

The police had visited his house the previous day and left a message for him to report at the police station.

The Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Yusif Mohammed Tanko,  who confirmed the arrest to OTECNEWS in an interview   announced that they got information that “Baba Alhassan was around his place of abode. We quickly organised men and truly when we went we had him arrested. We have gotten him to the police station and he is assisting us with investigations.”

He said they are investigating charges of assault, unlawful entry and other offensive conduct.

The four persons picked up by the joint police and military personnel at a base of the Kandahar Boys in Tamale have been granted police enquiry bail after screening.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching hospital in the Northern region Dr David Zaawumya Kolbila was allegedly been assaulted by members of an NPP affiliated vigilante group Kandahar Boys after they stormed the hospital.

The CEO’s office has been locked and the key taken away by the irate group which accuses him of incompetence.

DSP Yusif Mohammed Tanko assured the general public that the police would do everything possible to bring the perpetrators to book.
