Kotoko Coach excited to play Black Stars in friendly

The Newly appointed Kotoko coach Charles Kwabena  Akonnor has expressed his delight after Black Stars agreed to play a friendly match with the Ghana Premier League side on Friday October 12, 2018, kick off 4 pm prompt.

The game is a replacement for Black Stars 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Cup qualifier against Sierra Leone which was cancelled by FIFA on Tuesday.

It was however called off on Tuesday as Sierra Leone failed to talk FIFA out of its decision to ban them after a meeting with the world football governing body.

“This game is very important to us as a team and will help  us to assess  the team very well in terms of the style of play and what needs to be done on the field of play. ‘It is an honour to have the opportunity to pit our strength against the senior national team’’,  he observed.

‘’We are playing against our senior side and respectfully we want to learn from them, get to know a lot from them and improve as results of playing them” Coach CK Akonnor told OTEC FM’s Royal Sports on Wednesday October 10, 2018.

“The supporters should come in their numbers, not to expect too much from the team but I am very optimistic  that we w ill give them very good game, we are Asante Kotoko and we must seriously present ourselves as a team which is designed to play good football and win matches.
