OtecNews has secured photos of alleged kidnappers of two Canadian nationals who were rescued in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Fresh details have emerged pointing to Seidu Yakubu Mba who is not even affiliated to any political party but rather a staunch football and an Asante Kotoko fan masterminded the kidnapping of two Canadian girls who were volunteering in Ghana, Otecfmghana.com has learnt.

Seidu Yakubu Mba has been therefore arrested as the ring leader of the group that kidnapped the Canadian girls in Kumasi.

Eight suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of two Canadian ladies in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana, who were rescued by national security operatives in collaboration with other security agencies.

The suspects are made up of five Ghanaians and three Nigerians, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah told journalists on Wednesday, 12 June 2019.

The state has provided update on the arrest of some suspects connected with the kidnapping of two Canadian national, Lauren Patricia Catherine Tilley, 19, and Bailey Jordan Chitty, 20.

Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, during a press briefing Wednesday said intelligence-gathering efforts enabled the security agencies to zero in on the suspects associated with the incident.

The suspects he explained did not go without fighting as they engaged the rescue team, resulting in series of gunshot exchanges.

One suspect sustained minor injuries from the shoot-out.
