The Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development on Monday March 23,2020, presented over 20, 000 safety materials and equipments to the 45 Municipal and District Assemblies in the Ashanti Region to augment the fight against coronavirus.
The items which was presented by a Deputy Minister at the Local Government Ministry Hon Augustin Collins Ntim included 4500 alcohol based sanitizers, 4500 boxes of soap, 4500 veronica bukets 4500 packs if tissue and over 5000 nose mask.
The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development also launched disinfection exercise in Kumasi that will see to the fumigation of markets in the region
Hon Augustin Collins Ntim said exercise the formed part of governments efforts to reduce the risk of contracting the deadly coronavirus in the various markets .
He disclosed that the Ministry will fumigate over 1000 market across the country.
Receiving the items, the Ashanti Regional Minister Hon Simon Osei Mensah thank President Akuffo Addo for the support.
