I nearly committed suicide over GHs 800

A 32 year old female resident of  Atonsu, a suburb of  Kumasi, in the Ashanti region claims she wanted to end her own life because of the kind of treatment metted to her by her co-tenants after she misappropriated GHs 800 meant for the payment of water bill.

Narrating her ordeal on Otec fm’s ”Atigya” program, she explained that she received a call that her brother had fallen from a height whiles working at a construction site and had been rushed to a hospital.

According to her, the case was so severe that they were transferred  from the first hospital to the emergency unit of Okomfo Anokye Teaching hospital for further treatment.

She told the panel on the show that, she was left with no money to cater for her brothers medical expenses except the GHs 800 money her co-tenants contributed purposely for settling their water bill.
She therefore decided to use the money meant for the bill to settle the medical expenses of her brother since the Doctor demanded the exact amount to save her brother from losing  both eyes.

Unfortunatley for her, the water company went to her house on that same day she settled the medical bills of her brother and disconnected their water supply for failing to make the payment.
Her angry co-tenants made an agreement with her to fetch water to fill all their empt barrells  and containers each day until she could settle the water bill and have them connected to the water supply.

“To make things worse  they  insulted me and called me names after filling  all their barrels and containers,  so I decided to end the humiliations, hatred and verbal abuse I suffered everyday by drinking turpentine to end my life, ” she recounted.
