Man burnt to death for stealing a fowl



A poultry farmer is on the run for allegedly killing and burning a 38-year-old for attempting to steal his fowl.

The deceased who name was only given as Abeyefor attempted to steal a fowl on Saturday but lack eluded him and was caught by the angry owner.

This unfortunate incident occurred at New Techiman near Tanoso in the Brong Ahafo region.

OTEC NEWS’ Derrick Ekuoba Gyasi spoke to an eyewitness, Huudu Alhassan, and said the poultry farmer called Nana butchered the young man with machete and set him ablaze till he died and dumped him in a pit at his backyard.

Later, the suspect exhumed the body and dumped it in the cemetery in the town as his family members begun searching for him.

But the youth in the area caught Nana dumping the body at the cemetery but he managed to escape.

Residents of the area have set the farm ablaze and are currently threatening to attack anyone who tries to stop them.

The police are at the scene trying to restore calm as properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis has been destroyed with some residents moving away with birds from the farm.
