Contracta Construction UK Limited honours BCI Boss

Contracta Construction UK Limited has honoured the President of Breast Care International (BCI) Dr Mrs Beatrice Wiafe Addai, for her immerse contribution in improving the welfare of Ghanaian women.

The construction firm said Dr Mrs Beatrice Wiafe Addai who is a Consultant Surgeon has given hope to many devastated Ghanaians who have benefitted from her breast cancer campaign awareness.

She was awarded with a citation during breast cancer education and screening for the staff of Contracta Construction UK Limited at their office at the Kumasi Cultural Centre on Friday, October 28, 2022.

In a citation presented by the Chief Executive Officer of Contracta Construction UK Limited, Fabio Camara, the award was “in recognition and appreciation of your immerse support and continued commitment to Contracta Construction UK Limited”.

“This year’s breast cancer education and screening would not have been successful without your benevolent support,” the citation also said.

“Contracta Construction UK Limited deeply appreciates the time, dedication and sacrifices the Peace and Love Hospital and Breast Cancer International have made in this selfless journey of educating and screening provided to our outfit,” it concluded.

Dr Mrs Beatrice Wiafe Addai, who is also the CEO of Peace and Love Hospitals, receiving the honour expressed his appreciation to Contracta Construction UK Limited for recognizing her efforts.

“I feel so honoured and humbled today for this honour. I really thank you for this recognition.  Such an award places more challenges on me to work more to reduce the breast cancer prevalence,” she opined.

“I also thank Contracta Construction UK Limited for sponsoring the BCI and Peace and Love Hospital in our awareness campaigns on breast cancer,” she added.

During the screening, Dr Mrs Beatrice Wiafe Addai educated the staff on the causes, prevention and control of breast cancer; the disease killing women prematurely.

Dr Wiafe Addai advised them to frequently visit the hospitals for medical checkups, including breast cancer screening, a disease which is not painful at the early stage.

She expressed hope that “the contracting of breast cancer does not equal to death, as it is treatable and curable when it is detected earlier”.

The Community Liaison Officer for the Contracta Construction UK Limited, Mr Emmanuel Danso explained that company in celebrating October Breast Cancer Awareness Month has organized a series of breast cancer education with the BCI as part of their corporate social responsibility.

“Contracta Construction UK Limited has in the month of October this year organize series on breast cancer education to sensitize our women on the existence of the disease so that they become aware and follow all the instructions given to be healthy,” Mr Danso added.
