Address high import and export taxes – Traders to Nana Addo

8149530811287_4477022448399The United Petty Traders Association of Ghana has called on the president-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to address the issue of high import and export taxes affecting traders.

The Association is urging Nana Addo and his administration to work closely with traders to ensure that their concerns such as the 17% flat VAT rate are all addressed.

The Association in a press statement congratulated Nana Akufo-Addo on his election to the highest office of the republic and assured him of their constant support as he embarks on his new responsibilities from January 7, 2017.

The petty traders also Commended President John Dramani Mahama and some of his parliamentary candidates who lost their seats in the elections for accepting defeat.
“Indeed, there were no losers, all of us as a nation emerged as winners, and Ghana is richer and better as a result of the collective maturity demonstrated before, during and after the elctions” the statement said.

The Association called on all Ghanaians, Npp or Ndc to to rally behind the winning team for development.
