President John Mahama has said irrespective of the outcome of the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will accept it.

According to him, the NDC is a party that respects the rule of law, therefore, will not plunge the country into any instability.

Speaking to some supporters of the NDC at his residence in Cantonments, Accra, on Friday December 9, Mr Mahama said: “Let me thank you for your visit here this morning. I want us to remember that we are a party that respects the rule of law and I also want us to remember that we are the party in government and so we have more to lose if there is any instability in this country.

“Let us respect the constitution. The EC is doing its work; they have released some figures. We have taken hold of those figures, we are doing our own collation and comparing it with the figures we have. But we need to be calm so that the EC can do its work.

“I want to assure the nation that we will respect the outcome of the election, positive or negative, and so let us be calm, let us get the figures, let us do the comparison and let us be law- abiding. God bless our homeland Ghana.
