CLean up exercise to precede Asantehemaa’s burial rites
The Bantamahene and Warloard of the Asantehene, Baffuor Owusu Amankwatia VI, has entreated citizen of Kumasi and is environs to clean up their environment to keep a clean city ahead of the burial and funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa.
Citizens in the metropolis are expected to organize a massive clean up exercise on saturday the 14th of January, 2017 between the hours of 6am and 12pm.
The exercise, according to the Bantamhene is aimed at keeping a clean city to welcome the many foreign dignitaries who will be attending the final funeral and burial rites of the late Nana Afia Kobi Ampem II.
All shops in the metropolis are to remain closed during the clean up execise from morning untill 1pm.
Nana Baffuor Owusu Amankwatia VI warned that punitive action shall be taken against citizens who will go contrary to the directive by the monitoring team of the traditional authorities.
The medical, environment and sanitation sub-committe of the Asantehemaa, Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem burial ceremony, headed by Nana Baffuor Hyiaman BrentuoVI, ealier today released a list of streets and drains to be cleaned during saturday’s clean up exercise.
The list of streets and drains includes;
1. Anloga junction to tech junction
2. Airport roundbout to Manhyia palace
3. Suame roundabout to Maakro junction
4. suame roundabout to Tafo market
5. Suame roundabout to Sofoline interchange
6. Acheamfour market to Suame roundabout
7. Asanteman SHS to St. Louis demonstration JSS
8. Lancer chemist to Agyekum building
9. Asafo interchange to cement
10. Asafo Market to Zion school
