Mahama dismisses false UN appointment story
Former President John Dramani Mahama has dismissed media reports over a new appointment with the United Nations (UN).
Some media houses in the country falsely reported on Sunday that the former president had been appointed to co-chair a session on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) with the Prime Minister Erna Solberg of Norway.
However, a basic check would have revealed that the UN appointment was in 2016 during the Davos Forum when Mr. Mahama was still the president of the republic of Ghana.
The former President who was forced to respond to the false appointment story tweeted that “Folks! I have no new UN appointment. The Co-chair of SDG advocacy group appointment was last year January when I was Prez. Thanks.
What many are sharing are the UN statement from January 2016 announcing the appt & my statements at the 2016 Davos Forum.
