Obinim’s assault hearing adjourned to Jan 26

The founder and general overseer of the International God’s Way Church (IGWC), Bishop Dr. Daniel Obinim failed to make it to his court hearing today, January 13 after reporting sick through his lawyers.

The pastor is facing charges of assault, after a video footage of him flogging two of his church members in a service, surfaced.

He accused them of engaging in fornication.

Obinim who referred to the two as his adopted children, implied in his comments to them in the video they must have been “stupid” to engage in premarital sex.

Following the release of the video and the controversies that followed, Obinim was arrested by the Tema Police command and charged with assault.

The Accra Circuit Court presided over by her Honour Mrs Abena Oppong Djin-Doku hearing the case today ordered lawyers of Bishop Daniel Obinim to produce a medical certificate which proves their client is unwell.

The case has been adjourned to January 26.
