MCE bemoans falling standards of Education at Asokore Mampong

Several factors including poverty has led to the fallen standard of Arabic and English Languages in the Asokore Mampong Municipality in the Ashanti Region.

“Other factors include inadequate infrastructural facilities such as classrooms for pupils and teachers”, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Alidu Seidu identified.

“My information is that basic teaching materials such as English, Mathematics, Integrated Science do not enhance teaching and learning”, he revealed.

“Information available indicates that the level of literacy in the municipality is not the best”, the MCE stated in his sectional address delivered to Assemble members in the municipality.

According to him, the Assembly can solve the identified challenges through concerted efforts to strengthen the yet to be implemented free education policy .

“My vision would encompass provision of additional classrooms, cash to brilliant but needy pupil. …I will also consider part funding of mock examination for final year students in the municipality”, MCE Alidu Seidu promised.

Earlier, he had promised to ensure that the youth in the municipality get sustainable jobs under this New Patriotic Party government.
