Aduana Stars selects Cape Coast Stadium as second option for CAF Cup campaign

Ghana Premier League Champions for the 2016/17 season Aduana Stars has selected the Cape Coast Sports Stadium as an alternative venue for their CAF Champions campaign for 2018 if the Dormaa Park fails to meet CAF requirements.

According to reports reaching OTEC FM Royal Sports, the Brong Ahafo club will use the Cape Coast Stadium if CAF is not satisfied with the Nana Agyemang Badu Park at Dormaa.

The Dormaa based Club has already begun refurbishing the Nana Agyeman Badu Park in a bid to meet the Confederation of African Football requirements.

Officials of Africa’s football governing body will arrive in the country, on a date yet to be communicated, to inspect progress on the Nana Agyeman Badu Park.

Officials of the club, according to sources, prefer using the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in a bid to reduce the cost of transporting their opponents from Accra.

It said, the cost of flying their opponents from Accra to Sunyani, bussing them to Dormaa and back to Accra would be higher than using the Cape Coast avenue, where they will only need flying them and back.

Meanwhile, the two times Ghana Premier League Champions have been paired with Libyan side Al Tahaddy in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Aduana Stars will travel to Libya in the first leg on the weekend of 9-11 February and host the second leg a week later in Ghana.
