Anxious parents and guardians of some students of Kumasi Academy (KUMACA) have besieged the school’s campus to demand the immediate release of their wards following the protest by students over the mysterious deaths of four of students within one week.

The student died at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) hospital, the Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Cassandra Twum Ampofo has confirmed to OTECNEWS.

This brings the number of students who have died from April this year to 10. According to the reports, 24 other students are currently on admission at the hospital.

Three students of the senior high school, all first-year students, were said to have died in similar fashion last week after they were sent to KNUST Hospital by the school’s authorities.

According to our reports Isaac Nsiah Foster, they were referred to the school’s sickbay that is allegedly under-resourced before being sent to the hospital to die.

Parents and guardians of some students rushed to the school’s premises when news about the mysterious deaths got to them.

The panic-stricken parents are also demanding answers from the school’s authorities over the development.

The situation escalated when another student was reportedly taken ill again and rushed to the Hospital.

Some of the students claimed the school’s sickbay housed in a beautiful edifice has no essential drugs to treat sick students on campus despite being charged with medicals.
