Ashanti police arrests three suspected armed robbers at Nyinahin

The Ashanti Regional Police Command in acting upon the intelligence of Nyinahin District Police Command has arrested three suspected arm robbers at Afepaye.

It was alleged the three suspects, Dramani 24, Richard Bromyiwa 25, and Joseph Gyimah 24, were involved in an armed robbery incident that took place at the Asanayo forest on the Afepaye Nyinahin trunk road on Monday January 15, 2018 at about 4:30am.

 

Otec news’ reporter Simon Opoku Afri yie who was at the press briefing at the Central police station on Friday January 19, 2018, reported that three suspects were paraded for public identification.

The Deputy Ashanti Regional police commander DCOP Fred Adu Anim addressing the media said the suspects wielding two single barrel guns, laid ambush at the Asenayo forest, fired and stopped a driver in charge of a 207 sprinter Benz passenger bus with registration no WR 844-X on the aforementioned date and time and forcibly ordered him to stop, which he obliged out of fear.

“The three suspects’s armed robbers at gun point then ordered the driver and the passengers out of the vehicle to lie down subsequently robbed them of unspecified amount of money and over twenty mobile phones,” he added.

The suspects are in the police custody assisting the police in investigation.
