Over 400 YEA beneficiaries to demonstrate over 7- month unpaid allowances

Over four hundred (400) beneficiaries of Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti Region have served notice of a demonstration against the management of YEA over 7 months unpaid allowances.

The beneficiaries include Community Health Nurses, Community Police, Teaching Assistance, Fire and Forestry officers.

Expressing their displeasure to OTEC FM’s Kwaku Anane Jnr in an interview , they described their treatment as inhumane and threatened to use demonstration to drive home their demand.

According to the beneficiaries, all efforts to appeal to YEA management for an amicable solution to their issues has fallen on death ears.

The beneficiaries have also threatened legal suit if YEA management fails to address their concern by paying them their 7 months arrears after their demonstration.

“We the beneficiaries deserves better. It is very pathetic that you will work and at the end of the month your salary will not come. Some of us sometimes come to work with empty stomach which is very bad. We are urging YEA management to pay us our 7 months arrears or face our wrath. We will take the necessary legal action against them if they fail to pay us our arrears” they said.

According to them, they have picked intelligence that fellow beneficiaries in other districts have been paid thus serving notice that will besiege the streets of Atwima Nwabiagya District to press home their demands.
