A State burial has been organized for the late Nana Akenten Appiah-Minkah, an astute private legal practitioner, an industrialist, a businessman and a politician based in Kumasi in the Ashanti region.
Among the large crowd of mourners were President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and a former President, John Agyekum Kuffuor.
In a tribute, President Akufo-Addo described the late Aketen Appiah-Menkah as a model of entrepreneurial spirit Ghana needs for her development.
Appiah-Menka who was also a member of the council of elders of the party died on February 13, 2018 at the age of 84.
Mr. Appiah-Menka was popularly also known for producing the popular Appino soap in the 80s.
He was a member of the Constitution Review Commission which was established by the Mills administration.
Mr. Appiah-Menka is also the Chairman of the Ashanti Oil Mills, Appiah Menka Complex Limited and Appiah Menka Plantations.
