Anas Video: CID Invites Anthony Karbo

The Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service has invited the deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, Anthony Abaayifa Karbo, to assist with investigations in the Kwasi Nyantakyi case.

It is, however, not known if Mr. Karbo is implicated in the ongoing investigations but reports indicate that the MP for Lawra is seen in the yet-to-be released video by Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas negotiating for deals on behalf of the presidency.

Mr. Nyantakyi, the President of the Ghana Football Association was on Wednesday released on bail by the Police CID.

Mr. Nyantakyi handed himself to the CID when he arrived from Morocco Wednesday dawn to answer questions for allegedly using President Akufo-Addo’s name fraudulently.

Nyantakyi allegedly demanded whopping sums of money from the potential investors to facilitate their meeting with the president, the vice and other senior government officials.

Mr. Nyantakyi is expected back at the CID headquarters in Accra Thursday after he was charged with defrauding by false pretense.

The video will be released on June 6, 2018. President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday directed the CID to take up the matter on prima facie basis that his actions are criminal.
