We Lost Elections Because of Disconnection – NDC Group
Without recognizing and empowering the grassroot members of National Democratic Congress (NDC), the party will remain in opposition forever despite it’s poise to recapture political power come 2020.
“As a party if the grassroots are not given due recognition, youth wings are not empowered, then our dream of political power will be a mirage”, according an emerging group in the party calling itself “Team One”
According to them, the party in government as socialist party neither recognized nor resourced grassroot members to keep the party in government.
“The defeat of the party in the 2016 elections is not because the government did not deliver but because there was a vast gap between the party and government”,they observed.
The group at a press conference in Tamale observed that the Mahama government played it’s part in fulfilling some of the campaign promises but the disconnection between government and the party at that time worked against the party’s fortunes in the polls.
“We are all at fault and this is the time we are to be reborn”,appealing to every NDC member to help restructure the party.
“The future of the party belongs to we the youth and we will not allow anybody to collapse it by action or inaction”, they vowed to be tough on such persons.
A statement signed by Issah Abdul Diagari admonished both executives and members to eschew divisive comments that has the tendency to jeopardize the party’s upcoming presidential and parliamentary primaries.
