Keep the spirit of fasting alive- Techiman North DCE to Muslims

The District Chief Executive of the Techiman North  in the Brong Ahafo Region, Hon Peter Mensah has warned Muslim youth to celebrate the Ramadan in moderation to mark the end of the 30-day fasting and urged them to keep the spirit of fasting alive.

Hon Peter Mensah therefore cautioned them to avoid over-celebration and guard against unhealthy and risky behaviours that could end them up with problems.

“The prayer, sacrifice and purification that you endure throughout the month of Ramadan has a cleansing effect on whole communities and offers a renewed lease as we confront life’s many challenges’’, he observed.

“We pray that as you break the fast you continue to seek Allah’s guidance and blessings not only for our families, friends and communities but for the good of Ghana so we can forge ahead as a people in peace and tranquillity.”

Eidul Fitr message by the Techiman North DCE, Hon. Peter Mensah

Eid ul-Fitr is one of the major religious holidays that followers of Islam have been observing for centuries. By closing the holy month of Ramadan, it carries a deep moral meaning, encapsulates the joy of renewal, commitment to self-improvement, readiness to do good and help the needy in the community.

As the District Chief Executive for Techiman North, I deeply appreciate and respect the active participation of Muslim organisations in the District’s public and cultural life, in implementing needed charitable, educational and patriotic initiatives.

I have also noted the role Muslims play in sustaining civic peace and concord, and enhancing friendship and mutual understanding among people within the District and the country at large.

While conveying to the Muslim community best wishes for a happy Eid celebration, I make a humble appeal to every Muslim brother and sister, to keep the spirit of fasting alive – let Obedience of Allah shine forth from this day forward. Let the rest of mankind observe the effect that fasting in the month of Ramadan has, in changing the outlook of a believing Muslim.

On the Occasion of the 2018 Eidul Fitr festivities, I wish all Muslims from around the world Eid Mubarak!

May Allah help us all to work towards the establishment of peace and high moral values in our District, Ghana and the world at large.

Eid Mubarak!
Eid Mubarak!!
