Asokwa MCE vows to punish sanitation law offenders

The Municipal Chief Executive for Asokwa, Akwanuasa Gyimah, has stated the Assembly will begin prosecution of sanitation law offenders within the municipality.

He made this statement during the Assembly’s maiden clean up exercise to commemorate the Founder’s Day.

The clean up exercise took place in the principal Streets of Asokwa, Atonsu – Agogo, Ahinsan, Kaase and High school junction.

Addressing the people, Mr. Gyimah stated that maintaining good sanitation was a major challenge and needed stringent actions to get flashed out. He further cautioned the Asokwa municipal Assembly will not hesitate to deal with persons who flout the sanitation laws.

The DECE explained that huge sums of money are spent periodically to make cities clean but residents continue to dump refuse indiscriminately at unathourised place.

According to him, the Asokwa municipality has suffered flooding as a result of human activities.

Meanwhile the Asokwa constituency NPP organiser who doubles as the Assemblyman for Atonsu Agogo north Electoral area, Eric Osei, called on all residents to ensure their environment are kept clean for healthy life.

He advised that regular clean up exercise should be adopted by all, especially among various groups and unions for a clean environment.
