Vodafon-inscribed vehicle crashes police officer to death at Kubease check point

A Vodafon-inscribed vehicle with registration number AW 5859-12 has crashed and killed Lance Corporal John Andoh at Kubease in the Ejisu municipality in the Ashanti region in the early hours of Thursday, December 3, 2019.

The deceased, according to the Ejisu Divisional Police Command, who was stationed at Ejisu, was on duty with other colleagues at Kubease snap check point when he was killed at 6am.

The report said the deceased and his colleagues had just closed from duty and hewas carrying the barricades to safe place but while going the pickup vehicle with Vodafon inscription in an attempt to overtake a vehicle from a wrong lane lost control of the steer, veered off the road and crushed the police officer to death.

“The driver of the Vodafone pickup which had severe dent at the back stopped fora while and suddenly sped off. The suspect driver in charge AW 5859-12 is in  police custody” the reported added.

The body of the policeman has been deposited at Living Waters Hospital mortuary for preservation and further action.
