Two Kotoko officials treated and discharged after gunshots in Berekum

Two Asante Kotoko officials who were rushed to the hospital after a fight broke out before their league match with Berekum Chelsea in the Special Competition have been treated and discharged, otecfmghana.com can confirm.

The two, Dr Amo Sarpong, popularly known as Energy and Okatcha were treated and discharged from the Emergency Unit of the Sunyani Government hospital.

Ghanaguardian.com can also reveal that the two are currently on their way to Kumasi and being driven by Management member of the Asante Kotoko Soccer Club – Edmund Ackah, in the very red car he took to Berekum.

Background

Dr Amo Sarpong who is the Asante Kotoko’s Policy Analyst was said to have fired gunshots few minutes to the kickoff of the clash between Berekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko after some fans of the home team attacked them.
The Policy Analyst then swiftly dived into his car and hurriedly came out with a pistol, firing warning shots in the midst of the confusion.

Our reporter Akakpo Snr Kaikai earlier filed that the chaos resulted in the two officers being injured and rushed to the Sunyani Government Hospital for medical attention.
