No cause to worry – Buhari assures as he leaves for London to see doctors

Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari has left for the United Kingdom for a “follow-up medical consultation with his doctors”.
President Buhari left Sunday night, having transmitted letters about the trip to the Senate and the House of Represntatives in compliance with the country’s constitution.
“[President Buhari] had planned to leave Sunday afternoon, but decided to tarry a bit, due to the arrival of 82 Chibok girls who arrived Abuja earlier in the day,” a statement issued by Special Advisor Femi Adesina said. “The President wishes to assure all Nigerians that there is no cause for worry,” the statement on Sunday added.
“He is very grateful for the prayers and good wishes of the people, and hopes they would continue to pray for the peace and unity of the nation.” President Buhari returned to Nigeria in March from a medical leave that saw him overstay in the UK.
His condition is suspected to have been no better in recent times as he has missed the last three cabinet meetings amidst worries from Nigerians. He was, however, seen in public on Friday for the first time in weeks.
Government has assured that it will function normally under Vice President Yemi Osibanjo. “The length of the President’s stay in London will be determined by the doctors.”
