NPP Primaries: Group accuses “Busia’s family for attempting to takeover Wenchi MP seat

Whoever thinks the internal wrangling and bickering among the rank and file of the Wenchi branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is over is indeed deceiving himself.

Information available to Action Patriots for Justice (APJ) has it that while the situation seems to be calm, there are clandestine and subtle moves by a section of the Party members led by a former Member of Council of State and leading member of NPP, Madam Ama Busia’s, to unseat the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for the Wenchi, Hon. Prof. George Gyan Baffour.

According to a statement issued by the pro- NPP group ,although this agenda has met a vehement and implacable opposition from some other siblings and family members, Madam Ama Busia won’t give up but has succeeded in fronting Albert Ameyaw, her personal aid for many years and also, PA for her Son, the DVLA boss, as one of the candidates so that, when Albert Ameyaw succeeds in winning the seat, Agyemang Busia will takeover from Albert in his first term according to her plan and further lobby the system in getting her Son to be chosen as a running  mate of our great party in the future without ‘sacrifice’ to the struggles of our Great Party!

RE: PRESS CONFERENCE TO SET THE RECORDS STRAIGHT BY NPP DELEGATES REGARDING SOME COMMENTS MADE BY HON. KENNEDY AGYAPONG AND ACTION PATRIOTS FOR JUSTICE(APJ) IN CONNECTION TO THE UPCOMING PARLIAMENTARY PRIMARIES IN THE WENCHI CONSTITUENCY.

MADAM AMA BUSIA AND HER SON, AGYEMANG BUSIA FINGERED IN THE PLOT TO UNSEAT PROF. GYAN BAFFOUR

It is axiomatic that, the above press conference is a massaged reality designed to deceive discerning minds and also to cover up their shameful evil plot against Prof Gyan Baffour in the upcoming parliamentary primaries hence the attempt to vilify the referee to discredit him in the eyes of the people, knowing very well that, they are losing the match.

Madam Ama Busia’s agenda is to have the “BUSIA’ family takeover the Wenchi NPP, and to get that materialized, she must work against Prof. Gyan Baffour to stymie his re-election and prepare the grounds for her son, Agyemang Busia who is currently the boss of DVLA.

To be fair to justice, why would anybody hatch such a plot against the good old altruistic professor, who had hold the fort for the party in Wenchi for over 16 years while Agyemang Busia was cruising in the USA, minding his own business and quickly came back immediately the NPP won the 2016 election. Let discerning minds judge.

In the haste to put up a defense to save their face in the above press conference, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and APJ were accused of misrepresenting what they claim to be the facts, and further charged the national executives of the NPP to bring to book, the  convener and secretary of APJ, as they have disingenuously stated in the above press conference, but could not say same of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong. A clear case of inconsistence, and poor sense of judgement but again, we leave that to the discerning minds to judge.

APJ is fully aware of the weight behind the name “BUSIA” in the Osono family and therefore, downplaying such a name would not augur well for the party, but that is not to say, if something is coming from that quarters with the tendency to cripple and threaten the cohesion of the party, we cannot criticise or bring it to light.

We respect the Busia family but we believe that, Madam Ama Busia and her son should take a cue from his excellency the president, Nana  Akufo Addo and his family, on how they have been at the forefront of the struggle to make the Danquah, Busia, Dombo tradition what it is today.

Their struggle and sacrifices are visibly overwhelming for all to see, to the extent that, the likes of Gabby and others were molested and beaten in broad daylight but same cannot be said about the Busia family. Infact we cannot trace a single contribution of Mr Agyemang Busia from the constituency to National, yet, meetings are held everyday at the Dwowulu residence of Madam Ama Busia including her son, Agyemang Busia, Albert Ameyaw(candidate) Philip Sakordie, spokesperson for the above press conference and a host of others, normally transported from Wenchi , just to UNSEAT the very man who has brought dignity to the people of Wenchi and the Busia family.

The incessant interference from the Dwowulu residence of Madam Ama Busia resulting in a three(3) against fourteen (14) division in the Wenchi constituency executive may affect our chances of maintaining the seat.

We are by this press release, appealing to the National Executives to take up this matter seriously and conduct their own investigations to winnow the truth or otherwise from the falsehood peddled in the above press conference.

Again, we call on all the candidates and personalities pulling the strings behind the scenes for their selfish interest to allow fairness to prevail, so that, there wouldn’t be the need to set up a CONFLICT RESOLUTION COMMITTEE after the primaries.
