Covid-19 Task Force team at CCTH threatens to withdraw services

Members of the Covid-19 Taskforce team at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital say they will be forced to withdraw their services on June 14, if government fails to pay them.

The task force says, they have not been paid their 50% basic salary allowance as promised by government since July, 2020.

They say while other facilities have been paid, their facility -the main facility that managed many of the cases- have been left out.

At a news conference at the hospital, the spokesperson of the team, Pater Naab, intimated all effort at getting the allowance paid has yielded no results despite numerous engagements and assurance from hospital management.

They point out that having tried all legitimate means without any tangible results, the task force team members at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital will stop working if their allowances are not paid (July to December 2020) by June 14, 2021.

They end: “we hope that Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, Controller and Accountant General Department and Management of CCTH will do what is necessary to avert this action.”
