Central Tongu NDC In Disarray! *As NPP PC Files To Contest December Polls

Information reaching this reporter indicates that the Central Tongu Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region is in serious trouble.

The party, which is the most dominant in the constituency, is on the verge of losing that dominance following the increasing affection for Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Central Tongu Constituency, Mr Raymond Korku Escambellar Abledu-Amenu.

This show of affection came to light when Mr Abledu-Amenu, on Thursday October 8, 2020 filed his parliamentary nomination forms to contest the December polls on the ticket of the ruling NPP.

The event, which was initially scheduled to be a brief one, turned to attract scores of people to the EC office in the constituency.

The filling of the nomination forms has greeted with a lot of fanfare as some NPP faithful (s) praised Abledu-Amenu for his selfless leadership. His supporters also joined him in his happy mood with the pledge that they will help him win the seat for the NPP.

With barely three months to the general election, the celebrated business tycoon, who is making his first attempt for the MP slot, is confident of winning the support of the electorate to represent them in parliament.”

Addressing his supporters in an atmosphere of jubilation, Mr Abledu-Amenu called for unity to ensure a resounding victory.

The celebrated business tycoon pledged his commitment to wrestle the Central Tongu seat from the sitting Member Member of Parliament (MP) on the ticket of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Alexander Gabriel Hotordze who has represented the party for the second time.

He noted that the main target of the NPP Parliamentary Candidate was to win the Central Tongu seat for the NPP in the December 7, 2020 general elections.

He said he would not relent on his core vision in moving the constituency forward.

He said the Central Tongu NPP was ready to battle for another landslide victory for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and called for unity among party members and supporters.

He disclosed to journalists that he is determined to address “the numerous challenges in the constituency” for another massive victory.
