Rectify anomalies with register before December 7 elections – NDC to EC

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) wants the Electoral Commission to take immediate steps to address challenges regarding the voters register before the December 7 election.

There are concerns such persons may not be able to vote on December 7 because they will be working at different places other than their original constituencies.

A Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Peter Boamah Otukonnor, told Citi News such anomalies must be rectified to prevent major challenges on December 7.

“It is important to identify the few challenges that have riddled this exercise and make sure you put measures in place to resolve it because most of the challenges that confronted the system if it should happen on election day, that will be a bit problematic.”

The special voting exercise took place in all 275 constituencies across the country.

The early voters included personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces, National Intelligence Bureau, National Security, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Information Services Department.

The rest are personnel of the National Ambulance Service, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Prisons Service, Ghana Journalists Association, Ghana Police Service and National Media Commission.

Such persons had to vote earlier because they will be engaged on December 7.
