Ghana: Globe TV launches new season of Mentor music reality show

Ghana’s Globe TV has launched the 2021 edition of music reality show Techiman in the Bono East Region starting from this coming Saturday, June 19, 2021.

The programme aims to discover and support gifted up-and-coming talents in the region and the country as a whole.

Dubbed “Globe TV Be  Alive Reality Show” the new program according to the organizers is aimed at discovering and managing raw talents across the country

Addressing the media during the launche on Thursday June 17,2021, Programs Director for Globe Television Nyansaboakwa Nana Takyi said the concept of the program is to comb the entire country to find musical talents and groom them to become great musicians in the world.

“Beyond offering a platform to discover extraordinary talents, we seek to add value and equip these young musicians with the requisite music business knowledge, industry insights and support to transform them into global stars, Nyansaboakwa Nana Takyi noted.

“Around the world, music is a multimillion-dollar industry and a major contributor to the GDP of countries. We at Globe TV are convinced that when the right structures are built and activities within the creative arts sector streamlined, our music industry could potentially become a huge contributor to national development, hence our efforts in helping to identify, nurture and hone young talents to contribute to the industry”.

Good morning colleagues in the media! Thanks for stopping by.

I am delighted to be here today to officially launch the maiden edition of our music reality show dubbed Globe TV Be Alive Reality Show.

I would like to highlight what Globe TV Be Alive Reality Show is, the idea behind the programme, our mission and what you can expect from this one-of-a-kind reality show. But before that, I would love to touch a bit on the Globe TV story.

Globe Television is the brainchild of Global Arena Broadcasting Ghana Ltd, a company that holds the vision of making a significant impact in the media and broadcasting industry here in Ghana and beyond.

We started operations last year August, of which I could remember we inviting you our colleagues in the industry to a meeting of this nature, I would say the journey so far has been adventurous but God has been good to us, not to take too much of your time, I would like to share our vision, mission, objectives and core values as a brand with you;

To produce excellent content that makes us the most-watched channel and the market leader.

Vision

To be recognized as the leading centre of excellent broadcasting stimulating the formation of a strong and vibrant media hub, first in the Bono East region, and then beyond while creating desirable value for respective stakeholders.

About Be Alive Reality Show

I would now want us to delve into the main project we are unveiling today.

Be alive is a television music reality show produced by Global Arena Broadcasting Ghana Ltd. (Globe Television) in collaboration with OYB media production, who are present here with us.

Beyond offering a platform to discover extraordinary talents, we seek to add value and equip these young musicians with the requisite music business knowledge, industry insights and support to transform them into global stars.

We at TV3 are convinced that when the right structures are built and activities within the creative arts sector streamlined, our music industry could potentially become a huge contributor to national development, hence our efforts in helping to identify, nurture and hone young talents to contribute to the industry.

The concept of this noble programme is to comb the entire country to find musical talents and hence, groom them to become great and renowned musicians by providing them with the needed skills and exposure.

The show would be in two editions, which are; regional and national contests.

The regional contest is kick-starting from the Bono East Region Ghana.

We did two weeks of audition shows to select qualified candidates from four (4) zones within the region (Kintampo, Nkoranza, Atebubu and Techiman), of which we now have twenty-four (24) contestants to battle it out.

The main competition will run for three months with weekly live performances and evictions shows every Saturday from 6 PM to 9 PM. The last five contestants will compete for the ultimate prize in the Grand finale.

Mode of selection and eviction

Selection and eviction of contestants will base on 40% of votes from the public through text and 60% votes of judges on performances and attitude of contestants.

The public will be allowed to comment on the show through voice call, video call and text messaging.
